      How to Use

How to Use the Voyager Mini Fridge for Insulin & Medicine

Discover unmatched versatility with the Voyager! This highly adaptable travel refrigerator for medicine allows you to keep your medication chilled, power or no power. Perfect for any travel scenario —from off-grid hiking adventures and road trips to luxurious beach holidays—here’s how to maximize your use of the Voyager:

Using the Voyager as a USB Portable Refrigerator

      • Load Up Your Medication: Place your insulin pens, vials, syringes, or other medications into the USB-lid tube as depicted in the images.
      • Seal & Power Up: Simply close the lid of your mini fridge and connect it to any USB power source—be it a car charger, solar panel, portable battery, or a home outlet. And you’re done!

      USB Power Cooling Efficiency:

All our medical travel coolers are rigorously tested in the laboratory. When used on USB mode and connected to power, the Voyager consistently maintains fridge-like temperatures between 2-8°C, ensuring your medications are stored safely, regardless of external temperatures up to 35°C.

Using the Voyager as a Mini Insulin Fridge with Cold Packs

When electricity isn’t an option, the Voyager’s backup cooling function comes into play using its Biogel cold pack.

      1. Prepare the Biogel: For even distribution, shake the Biogel cold pack up and down four or five times.

      2. Then, simply place your Biogel cold pack in the freezer for 6-8 hours before use. (there is no issue if you leave it in the freezer for more than 8 hours.)

      3. Once you need to use it, submerge the cold pack in luke-warm tap water for 120-180 seconds before placing it into the insulated cooling bottle. In the absence of luke-warm water, leave it outside for 15-20 minutes before use; however, the warm tap water method is more efficient throughout the year and at various seasonal temperatures. Following one of the procedures above will remove the ice layer (frost) from the surface of the cold pack, eliminating the risks of freezing your medicine when in direct contact.

      4. Gently towel dry the Biogel and place your insulin or medication inside the Voyager mini fridge, along with the cold pack.

      5. Securely close the lid. It's that simple!

Tips for Cooling On-The-Go: For continuous cooling, keep a second Biogel Cold Pack in your freezer ready to swap out as needed. Extra Biogel cold packs for the Voyager Portable
Refrigerator are available for purchase here.

      Cold Pack Cooling Efficiency:

Even off the grid, the Voyager ensures your medications stay chilled. When used on the Cold Pack Mode (without USB Lid), the Voyager portable refrigerator for insulin and medicine still offers you plenty of time to keep your meds refrigerated. It all depends on how hot it is outside!

      • At an external temperature of 30°C, it maintains fridge-like temperatures between 2-8°C for up to 33 hours and room temperatures below 26°C for up to 52 hours.
      • At 35°C outside, it manages 2-8°C for 30 hours and below 26°C for 48 hours.
      • Even at 40°C, your meds stay refrigerated between 2-8°C for 28 hours and cool below 26°C for 46 hours.

Stay cool and worry-free with the Voyager, wherever your travels take you!

      Maintenance & Cleaning Instructions

When used with the USB-LID, the Voyager mini fridge cannot be used upside down.

Most importantly, the heat dissipation holes above the USB-LID should not be covered or blocked. If you do not follow this precaution, the cooling effect will weaken and the cooler will break down.

Every few weeks, you can use an air compressor or hairdryer set to cool setting to blow air into the dissipation holes of the USB-Lid to remove the dust inside. This will extend the product's life span and ensure optimal performance.

We highly suggest that you unplug the USB-Cooling LID for 15-20 minutes to rest after 4 days of continuous use in order to extend the product's life expectancy.

      Cleaning instructions:

      1. Do not directly clean the exterior of the Voyager with water, as it will damage electronic components.

      2. You can use a damp cloth to gently wipe the stainless steel thermos and the stainless steel LID by hand.

      3. The Biogel-Ice Pack should be cleaned only with a soft cloth.

      4. The top part of the USB-LID can be cleaned only by blowing air into the dissipation holes, while the aluminum tube can only be wiped with a soft cloth.

      5. If there are any oxidation marks on the surface of the USB-Lid's aluminum tube, wipe and clean it with aluminum cleaner. As its material is aluminum with good thermal conductivity, oxidation is a normal phenomenon.

Genotropin must also be refrigerated before use. After first injection, Genotropin should be protected from heat and always kept below 25°C.

Nutropin must stay refrigerated at all times and must be used within 28 days after first use.

Saizen must be refrigerated and is stable for 28 days after first use if stored in refrigerator (of which 7 days can be outside of the fridge below 25°C).

Serostim vials can be stored at room temperature before reconstitution. Once reconstituted, the solution must be refrigerated.
