How to Use Your Cooler

How to Use Your Nomad PRO Insulin Case

Like the original Nomad, the Nomad PRO is really straightforward to use. Just follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the Biogel Cooling Pack: Shake the Biogel cooling pack four or five times to ensure the gel is evenly distributed.
  2. Freeze the Cooling Pack: Place the Biogel cooling pack in the freezer for 6–8 hours. Don’t worry if it stays frozen for longer—it’s completely fine!
  3. Activate the Cooling Pack: Submerge the frozen Biogel cooling pack in lukewarm tap water for 2–3 minutes. This removes the frost layer and prevents the risk of freezing your medicine. No lukewarm water available? Simply leave it at room temperature for 15–20 minutes instead. The warm water method is more efficient, especially in different seasonal conditions.
  4. Dry and Load your Medication: Towel-dry the Biogel cooling pack and place it into the insulated cooling case along with your insulin or medication.
  5. Secure the Lid: Firmly close the lid. Job done!
  6. Monitor the Temperature: Check the touch-screen temperature display any time you need to confirm your medications are stored within the safe range (shown in both °C and °F).

The cooling performance depends on the size of your Insulin Cooling Case: the Large model provides slightly longer refrigeration than the Medium.

Large Insulin Cooling Case:

At 30°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated (2–8°C) for 33 hours, and cool (<26°C) for 52 hours.

At 35°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated for 30 hours, and cool for 48 hours.

At 40°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated for 28 hours, and cool for 46 hours.

Medium Insulin Cooling Case:

At 30°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated for 30 hours, and cool for 48 hours.

At 35°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated for 28 hours, and cool for 46 hours.

At 40°C → keeps your insulin & medication refrigerated for 26 hours, and cool for 44 hours.

Pro Tip: Extend the Cooling Duration

For longer journeys or continuous use, keep additional Biogel freeze packs ready in the freezer so you can swap them out whenever needed and extend the cooling time of your Insulin Cooling Case.

Ideal for insulin, Ozempic or other medications

The Nomad PRO is the perfect travel cooling case for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who need to keep their injections cool and safe on the go.

Whether you use insulin or type 2 diabetes injections such as Ozempic, Mounjaro, Trulicity, or others, this compact cooler keeps them refrigerated for days — even on long journeys.

Designed for everyday reliability and medical-grade performance, the Nomad PRO takes the stress out of travelling with diabetes — from short trips and flights to daily commutes.

Perfect for GLP-1 medications – developed for the new generation of treatments

Whether you use Wegovy, Zepbound, Semaglutide, or Tirzepatide, the Nomad Pro Cooling Case is perfectly designed for today’s new generation of GLP-1 medications.

It’s engineered to keep your injections consistently refrigerated — providing reliable cooling, protecting them from heat, and preventing accidental freezing.

For anyone travelling with GLP-1 treatments, the Nomad Pro offers more than practicality — it ensures your medication stays effective, stable, and ready to use, wherever life takes you.

Compatible with over 30 medications

Beyond insulin and GLP-1 injections, the Nomad PRO is designed to safely store and transport over 30 types of refrigerated medicines.

From growth hormones (HGH, Genotropin, Norditropin) and rheumatoid arthritis treatments (Humira, Enbrel) to IVF and fertility injectionsmigraine medications (Aimovig, Emgality, Ajovy), and asthma injectables, our cooling case provides consistent, medical-grade cooling for a wide range of biologics and injectables.

➡️ To check how many pens, vials, or syringes your specific medication will fit, see the product images or the “Size & Fit” section above.

Suitable only for refrigerated medications

The Nomad PRO is built with high-performance cooling technology that maintains a steady fridge-like temperature between 2°C and 8°C. It’s perfectly suited for unopened insulin and other medicines that must stay refrigerated while travelling.

However, some treatments don’t need such low temperatures once they’re in use. If your medication only requires heat protection rather than full cooling — for instance, daily insulin pens or other room-temperature injections — you might prefer one of our insulated travel options, such as the Chiller Cooling Pouches or the Rambler Insulin Pen Case.

Both keep your medication comfortably cool without the extra refrigeration power of the Nomad PRO!

New colors – scratch-resistant surface

The Nomad PRO now comes in a range of vibrant, eye-catching colours, paired with a new scratch-resistant coating for extra durability.

While no surface is ever completely scratch-proof, this upgraded finish — together with the protective insulated carry bag — keeps your travel cooling case looking smart and polished, journey after journey.

More About Our Medical Travel Coolers for Insulin & Refrigerated Medication

Can 4AllFamily’s medical coolers be used for insulin?

Of course! Actually, our designs initially targeted insulin storage requirements and all our medical travel cooler are suitable for traveling with insulin.

Depending on your chosen model, our cooling cases can accommodate up to 15 insulin pens and numerous vials.

Remember, it's crucial to keep your in-use insulin pens and vials shielded from heat, maintaining them at room temperatures not exceeding 26°C. Additionally, any unopened insulin should be stored at a refrigerated temperature between 2-8°C.

Our coolers are engineered to maintain these temperatures range, with some performing fridge temperature and others room temperature control, or even both!

For specific cooling capabilities and durations of our products, please review the information on each product page.

Our coolers are compatible with most insulin pens and vials, including Admelog, Afreeza, Apidra, Basaglar, Fiasp, Humalog, Humulin, Lantus, Levemir, Lyumjev, Novolin, Novolog, Novorapid, Ryzodeg, Toujeo, Tresiba, Velosulin, Xultophy, and more.

On each product page, you can verify how many of your specific injection pens, syringes, or vials can fit in the cooler.

Can 4AllFamily’s Medication Travel Coolers be used to carry Growth Hormone injections?

Absolutely. Growth hormones are highly sensitive to temperatures and must be kept refrigerated or protected from heat. For instance:

Norditropin must be refrigerated before use. Once opened, it can be kept at room temperature below 25°C for 3 weeks or refrigerated between 2-8°C for 4 weeks.

Genotropin must also be refrigerated before use. After first injection, Genotropin should be protected from heat and always kept below 25°C.

Humatrope needs to be refrigerated too. After first use, Humatrope cartridges can be stored at fridge temperature between 2-8°C for up to 28 days (14 days for Humatrope vials)

Nutropin must stay refrigerated at all times and must be used within 28 days after first use.

Saizen must be refrigerated and is stable for 28 days after first use if stored in refrigerator (of which 7 days can be outside of the fridge below 25°C).

Serostim vials can be stored at room temperature before reconstitution. Once reconstituted, the solution must be refrigerated.

If you’re travelling with growth hormones, our medical-grade cooling cases ensure your medication is safe and transported at the optimal temperature.

Can 4AllFamily’s Medical Coolers be used to transport RA Injections?

Absolutely. Most injections used to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis are temperature-sensitive and must be kept cool. Our coolers are perfect for transporting and protecting them, including:
