Insulin Storage

Compatible with Most Insulin Pens

The Rambler Pro is designed to carry up to 1 standard insulin pen or pre-filled syringe, including the most commonly prescribed brands in Germany and Europe:

  • NovoRapid, Lantus, Tresiba 100, Tresiba 200, Toujeo, Apidra, Humalog, Humalog Mix 25, Humalog Mix 50, Basaglar, Levemir, Admelog, Semglee, Humulin R, Humulin N, Insulatard, Actrapid, Trurapi, Insuman Basal, Insuman Rapid, Insuman Comb 25, Insuman Comb 50, Protaphane, Novomix 30, Novomix 50, Soliqua, Abasaglar, Toujeo Max.

ℹ️ In-Use Insulin (Room Temperature Protection)
Most open insulin pens in active use can be stored at room temperature below 25°C for 28–56 days, depending on the brand. The Rambler Pro insulin pen cooler is the perfect all-day companion — its electric cooling system keeps your pen consistently below that threshold, even on the warmest days or in heated indoor environments.

ℹ️ Unopened / Refrigerated Insulin
The Rambler Pro can also maintain fridge temperatures (2–8°C) using the Electric USB-LID — useful for transporting a single unopened pen that requires strict refrigeration.

For carrying multiple insulin pens or vials at fridge temperature, we recommend our range of mini fridges and refrigerated travel coolers for insulin.

Cooling Efficiency - Time & Temperature

Cooling Modes & Performance

The Rambler Pro insulin pen cooler offers three cooling methods to keep your insulin pen protected — whether you have access to power or not.

⚡ Cooling Method 1: Electric USB-LID (Connected to External Power)

Connects to any standard USB power source — wall outlet, car USB port, power bank, or laptop. The LED display activates and you set your desired internal temperature using the (+) and (−) buttons.

  • Primary use: Keeping your in-use insulin pen safe from heat, all day
  • Adjustable temperature range: 2–25°C
  • Operating ambient range: -20°C to 35°C
  • Duration: Unlimited — as long as power is connected

💡 Pro Tip: Plug in 15–30 minutes before inserting your insulin pen, so the cooler has already reached your target temperature.

3 Working Intensity Levels Depending on Ambient Temperature:

  • 1st gear: keeps your insulin at 2–25°C when the ambient temperature is between -10°C and 20°C
  • 2nd gear: keeps your insulin at 2–25°C when the ambient temperature is between -15°C and 30°C
  • 3rd gear: keeps your insulin at 2–25°C when the ambient temperature is between -20°C and 35°C

Use a higher gear on hotter days for best performance!

🔋 Cooling Method 2: Electric USB-LID (Built-In 10,000 mAh Battery)

The included 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery slots into the Electric USB-LID for fully cordless electric cooling — no cables required.

  • Primary use: All-day cordless insulin protection
  • Temperature range: 2–25°C, adjustable
  • Operating ambient range: -20°C to 35°C

BATTERY DURATION: 4–30+ hours depending on working intensity and target temperature:

  • Room temperature protection (20–26°C) at 1st gear: 30+ hours
  • Fridge temperature (2–8°C) at higher gear: 4–8 hours

🧊 Cooling Method 3: Biogel Ice-Pack Only (No Electricity Needed)

For shorter outings, the included Biogel Ice-Pack provides simple, effective cooling without any power source.

  • Temperature maintained: Below 25°C
  • Duration: 10–16 hours under typical conditions
  • No electricity required

⚠️ The Biogel method keeps temperatures below 25°C — ideal for in-use insulin needing heat protection. For strict refrigeration at 2–8°C, use the Electric USB-LID method.

How to Use Your Cooler

How to Use Your Insulin Pen Cooler

⚡ Method 1: USB-LID Connected to Power

  • Connect: Screw the Electric USB-LID into the Stainless Steel Thermos until firmly closed.
  • Power on: Plug the USB cable into the USB-PORT on the side of the Electric USB-LID and connect to your power source. The LED display will light up.
  • Set temperature: Use (+) and (−) to set the internal temperature to your insulin's safe storage range.
  • Pre-cool: Wait 15–30 minutes for the unit to reach your target temperature before inserting your insulin.
  • Load: Open the Electric USB-LID, insert your insulin pen into the aluminum tube, and re-screw onto the thermos.
  • Monitor: Check the real-time LED display at any time to confirm your insulin is at a safe temperature.

🔋 Method 2: USB-LID with Built-In Battery

  • Charge: Ensure the 10,000 mAh battery is fully charged (solid non-blinking indicator = full).
  • Insert battery: Slide it into the battery chamber below the LED display on the Electric USB-LID.
  • Assemble: Screw the Electric USB-LID onto the Stainless Steel Thermos.
  • Power on: Press and hold the center button until the LED display lights up.
  • Set temperature & intensity: Use (+) and (−) for temperature. Tap the center button to select working intensity — use a higher gear in warmer conditions.
  • Load: Once the cooler reaches your target temperature, insert your insulin pen.

🧊 Method 3: Biogel Ice-Pack Only

  • Shake: Shake the Biogel before freezing so the gel spreads evenly.
  • Freeze: Lay flat in the freezer for at least 6 hours. Longer is fine and won't cause damage.
  • Activate: Submerge in lukewarm tap water for 30–60 seconds (no hot water). Alternatively, leave at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
  • Dry & load: Pat dry, place in the stainless steel thermos with your insulin pen, and close with the stainless steel lid.

Insulin Pen Cooler with Real-Time Temperature Display & Built-In Battery

€184,99

Finally, an insulin cooler that tells you the truth.

Most cooling cases leave you in the dark — no display, no confirmation, just hope your insulin will be fine.

The Rambler Pro shows you the exact internal temperature in real time, directly on the LED display. You set the temperature. The electric system holds it — precisely, actively, and verifiably.

No guessing. No doubting. Just certainty. Because your insulin deserves it.

The Insulin Pen Cooler That Finally Tells You The Truth

Most insulin pen coolers leave you in the dark. You zip them up, drop in an ice pack, and hope for the best. No reading. No confirmation. No way of knowing if your insulin is actually safe.

The Rambler Pro is different. It shows you.

Right there on the LED display — the exact internal temperature, updated in real time, readable at a glance.

No app. No Bluetooth. No guesswork. Just a number that tells you, always, whether your insulin is within its safe temperature range.

For anyone who has spent an entire afternoon worrying about their pen sitting in a warm bag, this changes everything.

Built For Germany — From The North Sea Coast To The Bavarian Alps

Germany puts insulin users through some genuinely challenging temperature conditions — in both directions.

A hot August afternoon in Munich or Frankfurt can push temperatures well above the safe threshold for your in-use insulin. And anyone commuting by bike through Berlin in January, or heading into the Bavarian Alps in winter, knows exactly what -10°C or colder feels like in practice.

Most insulin pen coolers only protect against heat. The Rambler Pro handles both heat and cold protection.

In summer, the electric cooling system actively maintains your set temperature in ambient heat up to 35°C. In winter, the same system heats when needed — keeping your insulin safely above 2°C even when it's well below freezing outside. The built-in anti-freeze function ensures the internal temperature never drops below 2°C, no matter the conditions.

One compact insulin pen cooler. Every German season — from the coast to the mountains.

Your In-Use Insulin Doesn't Need The Fridge. It Needs Consistency.

Many people living with diabetes in Germany carry their insulin far more carefully than necessary. Once a pen is open and in active use, it doesn't need refrigeration — most brands can safely stay at room temperature, below 25°C, for 28 to 56 days.

What it needs is reliability. Keeping your pen consistently below that threshold throughout a full day — whether you're on a long train journey from Hamburg to Munich, working a full shift, or spending a summer weekend in the Black Forest — is where most ordinary coolers fall short.

That's exactly what the Rambler Pro is built for. Set your target temperature, and the electric system maintains it actively and verifiably, confirmed on the display, all day long.

And when you do need to carry an unopened pen requiring refrigeration, the Electric USB-LID cools all the way down to fridge temperature (2–8°C). One insulin pen cooler. Both needs covered.

Need to carry 2 or more pens? The Rambler Pro is designed for one pen. For more capacity, explore our range of insulin mini fridges.

⚠️ Important — Not The Right Cooler For Every Situation

The Rambler Pro is a compact, single-pen insulin pen cooler. It is purpose-built for the daily heat protection of 1 in-use insulin pen.

It is not the right choice if you need to:

Carry insulin at strict fridge temperature as your primary need → See our range of portable mini fridges for insulin

Thirty Hours. One Battery. No Compromises.

At 1st gear — which covers everyday room temperature cooling for in-use insulin — the included 10,000 mAh battery runs for 30+ hours on a single charge. That's longer than a full working day and night combined. Long enough for a business trip to Berlin, a long weekend away, or a multi-day conference without touching a single outlet.

Need fridge-temperature cooling at a higher gear? The battery lasts 4–8 hours — still enough for a full travel day. And if you need more, plug into any USB source — a wall outlet, car port, power bank, or laptop — for unlimited electric cooling with no interruption.

Three modes. One insulin pen cooler. Your medication stays protected wherever you go.

What Every Other Insulin Pen Cooler Gets Wrong

Walk into any pharmacy in Germany and you'll find passive insulin coolers — neoprene pouches, insulated sleeves, gel packs. They all create a buffer between your insulin and the ambient temperature. In Germany's seasonal extremes, that buffer runs out quickly — in both directions.

Here's what sets the Rambler Pro apart:

Active vs. passive cooling. A standard cooler slows temperature change. The Rambler Pro prevents it. One reacts, the other controls.

Verification. With a standard cooler, you never know what temperature your insulin is actually at. With the Rambler Pro's real-time LED display, you always do.

True all-season protection. Standard coolers offer no protection against freezing. The Rambler Pro's anti-freeze function ensures your insulin never drops below 2°C — essential for German winters.

Three power options. Plug-in USB for unlimited cooling. Built-in battery for up to 30+ hours cordless. Biogel Ice-Pack for 10–16 hours with zero electricity. Whatever your day demands, the Rambler Pro adapts.

Carry-On Approved — From Frankfurt To Anywhere In The World

Flying with insulin shouldn't be stressful. The Rambler Pro makes it straightforward.

The entire kit is approved for carry-on luggage. The 60ml Biogel Ice-Pack sits within the standard 100ml liquid allowance. The Electric USB-LID and 10,000 mAh battery meet international airline carry-on requirements. Whether you're catching a domestic flight from Munich to Hamburg or a long-haul from Frankfurt to anywhere in the world, your insulin pen cooler travels with you — no special permits, no checked baggage, no stress.

Tips for smooth airport security:

  • Keep your insulin pen inside the cooler at all times — it immediately communicates medical purpose
  • A frozen Biogel alongside your medication rarely causes any issues
  • Always pack the USB-LID and battery in your carry-on, never in checked luggage

More About Our Medical Travel Coolers for Insulin & Refrigerated Medication

Can 4AllFamily’s medical coolers be used for insulin?

Of course! Actually, our designs initially targeted insulin storage requirements and all our medical travel cooler are suitable for traveling with insulin.

Depending on your chosen model, our cooling cases can accommodate up to 15 insulin pens and numerous vials.

Remember, it's crucial to keep your in-use insulin pens and vials shielded from heat, maintaining them at room temperatures not exceeding 26°C. Additionally, any unopened insulin should be stored at a refrigerated temperature between 2-8°C.

Our coolers are engineered to maintain these temperatures range, with some performing fridge temperature and others room temperature control, or even both!

For specific cooling capabilities and durations of our products, please review the information on each product page.

Our coolers are compatible with most insulin pens and vials, including Admelog, Afreeza, Apidra, Basaglar, Fiasp, Humalog, Humulin, Lantus, Levemir, Lyumjev, Novolin, Novolog, Novorapid, Ryzodeg, Toujeo, Tresiba, Velosulin, Xultophy, and more.

Are 4AllFamily’s Insulin Coolers compatible with other diabetes injections?

Yes!ᅠOur medical and insulin coolers are perfectly suitable for any injection for diabetics that requires refrigeration or temperature control, including Ozempic, Byetta, Trulicity, Victoza, and others.

On each product page, you can verify how many of your specific injection pens, syringes, or vials can fit in the cooler.

Can 4AllFamily’s Medication Travel Coolers be used to carry Growth Hormone injections?

Absolutely. Growth hormones are highly sensitive to temperatures and must be kept refrigerated or protected from heat. For instance:

Norditropin must be refrigerated before use. Once opened, it can be kept at room temperature below 25°C for 3 weeks or refrigerated between 2-8°C for 4 weeks.

Genotropin must also be refrigerated before use. After first injection, Genotropin should be protected from heat and always kept below 25°C.

Humatrope needs to be refrigerated too. After first use, Humatrope cartridges can be stored at fridge temperature between 2-8°C for up to 28 days (14 days for Humatrope vials)

Nutropin must stay refrigerated at all times and must be used within 28 days after first use.

Saizen must be refrigerated and is stable for 28 days after first use if stored in refrigerator (of which 7 days can be outside of the fridge below 25°C).

Serostim vials can be stored at room temperature before reconstitution. Once reconstituted, the solution must be refrigerated.

If you’re travelling with growth hormones, our medical-grade cooling cases ensure your medication is safe and transported at the optimal temperature.

Can 4AllFamily’s Medical Coolers be used to transport RA Injections?

Absolutely. Most injections used to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis are temperature-sensitive and must be kept cool. Our coolers are perfect for transporting and protecting them, including:

Humira (adalimumab) must be refrigerated before use and kept under 25°C for up to 14 days once open.
